The Childrens Hospital Los Angeles is pleased to invite you to the National Pediatric Trauma and Disaster Services Summit, September 11-12, 2008 in Los Angeles, California.

Childrens Hospital Los Angeles was recently awarded a grant from the federal government’s Department of Health & Human Services to improve hospital surge capacity and preparedness for public health emergencies. With funding from this grant, we have meticulously designed a program that incorporates the multidisciplinary aspects of Trauma and Disaster preparedness.  We are bringing together an array of speakers from across the United States to share their perspectives on how these issues affect us on a local, regional, and national level.  

This program is comprised of plenary sessions, breakout groups, along with panel discussions to spark engaging conversations on the current state of pediatric emergency services and disaster preparedness nationwide.  We will be able to determine and deliberate about the successes and challenges facing trauma networks and examine the latest trends in disaster communication and logistic support technology.  

This conference will provide you with an opportunity to foster relationships with others in the field. We urge you to participate and get involved by helping to cultivate an enriched plan to prepare us for whatever disaster may lie ahead.
